How Real World Player uses browser permissions and handles your playlists.

For Chrome extension version 0.8.1 · Last updated 31 October 2026

What Real World Player does

Real World Player is a Chrome extension that lets members of the Welcome Back to the Real World (WBTRW) community on Skool choose curated or personal YouTube videos and playlists. It displays a visible, movable YouTube video player inside that community. No separate Real World Player account is required.

Information processed by the extension

The extension is not designed to collect users' names, email addresses, authentication credentials, private messages, Skool posts, payment information or health information. The publisher does not operate a server to receive saved personal playlists and does not include publisher-operated tracking or analytics in the extension.

How data is used

The active tab's address is checked solely to enable Real World Player on supported community pages. Saved playlist names and URLs are used to display and play your choices. The publisher does not sell this information, use it for advertising profiles, creditworthiness or lending decisions, or use it for a purpose unrelated to the extension's music feature.

Permissions

YouTube and other third-party services

When you choose music, the extension constructs an official YouTube embedded-player URL and your browser connects to YouTube's servers. Google/YouTube may process your IP address, browser or device information, cookies, and playback activity according to Google's Privacy Policy. YouTube may display ads or restrict playback. The extension does not bypass these controls.

Real World Player runs within Skool pages. Your use of Skool is governed by Skool's own terms and policies. This public information site is hosted on Netlify; visiting it may involve the standard processing performed by your browser and the hosting provider.

Storage, retention and control

Personal playlists remain in Chrome's local extension storage until you remove them through the extension, clear extension storage, or uninstall the extension in a way that removes local data. Deleting a personal selection from Real World Player does not delete its source video or playlist on YouTube.

Security and Chrome Web Store limited use

The extension's application JavaScript is packaged with the extension; YouTube playback uses a separate HTTPS embedded player. Information obtained via Chrome APIs is used only to provide the described features, consistent with applicable Chrome Web Store User Data and Limited Use requirements.

Children and age restrictions

Real World Player is a general-purpose community companion and is not specifically designed for children. YouTube and Skool maintain their own age and account requirements.

Policy updates

We may update this policy if the extension's functionality or data practices change. The revised policy and its updated date will appear here.
